Hands down the best ecollar and customer service

"This really is the best product. I take the collar on walks and hikes in all weather and it is holding up so well. The opeartion is simple. The battery lasts a long time. The quality is great. I used this to train my dogs and they stay closer to me now. We mainly only use vibrate. I use shock every once in a while if they get very distracted. It's a great stress reliever really. I know that when my dogs have the collar on, I can call them quickly and we can avoid dangerous situations and they'll be safe. Big plus is the warranty! SportDog customer service is just fantastic. One phone call is all it takes. I really love this collar. If you are looking for something that is effective and durable, try this one. "

Very very effective

"I have a Siberian Husky with a very high prey drive. She sees another dog walk by and she will give chase every single time. It's gotten to the point that I was dreading walking her outside. A friend suggested this collar. The first time I used it, she saw a dog and started to give chase. I had the collar on shock setting and gave her a quick stim. She immediately stopped and turned to walk back to me. It was amazing. I did have to adjust the setting twice more after that as she got used to the stimulation and started ignoring it again. But after the second level adjustment, she's started to learn that what she's not supposed to do. This is very very effective and I couldn't be happier."

This is the right collar for my dog

"I had an old remote training collar that didn't give the best impression of safety. The control would shift every time I had it in my pocket and I always worried that it would be on a different level and I'd end up shocking my dog. I finally decided to just get a more known brand and that's how I ended up getting SportDog. I was worried it would be the same but I was wrong. The knob on this remote is much stiffer, there's no way it will move unless I intentionally do it. Besides it came with a clip so I don't even need to have it in my pocket. That's not the only thing I like about it though. This trainer has different intensity levels which is very useful to me. I can just set it once and not worry about having to adjust it all the time. I started at the lowest level. My dog has a stubborn streak so I go up to mid level whenever she's being particularly difficult. This collar delivers very consistent stimulation and has helped her a lot. This really has eliminated a lot of worry on my part. So much better than all the others I have tried before."

Love this e-collar!

"My dog Michiko knows the basic commands but I needed somethng to help train her be more consistent with following them. This collar was purchased to help with that. So far, training is going well. I still need to teach her not to chase squirrels and small animals but that's for the next trainign session. People will always have a lot to say about collars like this, especially the ""shock"" function. Many of them has not even tried using one. My dog is not being abused. In fact, she has come to associate this collar with training and treats and going offleash outside for play time. I will be buying another collar with a GPS function as soon as I've saved up enough for it."

Works Really Well

Sport Dog has excellent customer service. That's partly why I bought this collar. The other reason is I actually had an old Sport Dog collar that lasted YEARS. So I know I'm getting good quality and the price is worth it. My dog is almost 100% off leash now. I used the static chock very minimally, only when he's being very stubborn. Mainly I stuck with just the tone mode for recall.

Fantastic E-Collar

It took me a while to figure out how to make this work. I was a bit intimidating at first. But once I did, WOW. What a game changer for my German Shepherd. I used the vibration and shock to teach her about her boundaries as I don't have a fenced yard. You just need to make sure the collar fits well. If it's not snug, the stimulation will be inconsistent. I like that this has great range and the build is high quality. I've droppd the remote a few times and it still works fine.

Buy this for dog safety

"Remote training collars are marketed as training tools and they are. But people overlook that it's also for your dog's safety. I had a dog that run straight into the street and it was the vibration of the collar that distracted her enough to stop and run back to me. Narrowly missed getting hit by a car. This is like a gentle reminder for your dog to behave. I only use vibrate on my dog and the unit is set to vibrate, tone, and stimulation last. There are different levels of strength too, so you can easily customize what works best for your dog. Finally I just have to say that SportDog is wonderful. The units come with warranty and they will really go out of their way to assist you. "

What a bog difference this collar made!

I have a strong-willed hound that will pull on the leash all the time. She also gets super excited whenever she sees other dogs. I had a session with a dog trainer and this is the brand that they were using for training. The difference after the session was so pronounced that I immediately purchased the collar. Most of the time now, simply having the collar on will get my dog to behave, even without using any stimulation.

Excellent

We've always used SportDog products in the past and has been very happy with their performance. This model we bought because we needed something with a bit more range than the older model we're using.

We considered getting a Garmin or a Dogtra collar this time just to change things up a bit but I am glad we decided to stick with what we know. The remote and collar on this were not quite as large compared t those other brands so handling is, I think, so much better for me and the dog.

Best Purchase

I am very impressed with this collar. I have an Aussie Shepherd I trained on a Sport Dog collar previously and was very happy with the results. I purchased this one to help with training my new pup. The range on this model is better than the one I used before so I can take training to beyond the backyard which is fantastic because my pup likes to run. I've taken this collar on hikes with no issues. I like that this also came with vibration and beep on top of the usual static. The best part for me is the rechargeable battery. It's a pain having to replace batteries all the time so not having to worry about that for a good long while is awesome. I give this 5/5. You'll really never go wrong with SportDOG.

works well

The device works well. However, I did not like that the cover over the plug is so hard to put back in place. I feel like I will destroy that flap trying to put it back in place.

Worked great for our rescue

My rescue dog was perfect when we got her. My only problem is maybe because she came from the streets, she has a tendency to bolt any chance she gets. I once spent literal hours chasing after her. I was so worried I'll end up losing her. A good friend of mine is a dog trainer and recommended this collar. As soon as it arrived, I went through the manual and watched the training video. Then I called my friend for added training support. The following day I started with remote collar training and saw immediate results. By the end of the first week using this, all my worries have pretty much gone. My dog can walk without a leash and she doesn't run away. If she gets distracted, I give her a very low level shock and she goes back to behaving. I really feel that this collar gave me peace of mind and also helped my dog have more freedom. It also saved me a lot of money from enroling her in a dog training camp.

Great for impulse control

I have so many things I want to say about this collar and this company but I'll try to keep it as short as I can.

First, my dog is around 18020lbs. My house has a small yard without a fence because the HOA doesn't allow it. Now, my dog is very high energy and just loves spending time outside. He can play fetch all day if you let him. Because of the fence/yard situation, he obviously cannot be off-leash or I risk having him run too far away. He also gets crazy whenever he sees the neighbor's dog. I've been making do with a long, bungee collar.

So I decided to get an e-collar because I read that it's the fastest way to get your dog off-leash and behaving. Of course, I didn't know what to get. I did some research online and found this company. I contacted customer service for some recommendations. I have to say PetsTEK's customer service is fantastic. They didn't just tell me to buy. They asked me questions and suggested several options that would fit what I need for my dog. I was also very happy because the product arrived very fast.

This e-collar came with everything I need to start training out the box. It even came with an instructional video so I was really happy about that.

There are a few things I didn't like about the e-collar, but they're really not big dealbreakers for me:
- no on/off button
- the rubber covering on the charging port isn't very snug. I'm not sure if I'm just not doing things properly.
- the strap is too long. But I cut it to fit better so it's okay.

What I did like is this collar has static stimulation that goes from low to high. Try it on yourslef so you have an idea what level may hurt for your dog. This apparently can be expanded to multiple dogs as well. I only have the one dog but it's nice to know I can get another dog and won't have to buy a whole other e-collar set for him.

OVERALL, the 1825 is a good buy especially if you want your dog to have the freedom of off-leash play.

Geat product but weak vibration

This is a good remote trainer. I can't give 5 stars because I think the vibration is too weak. The volume of the beep is also very low. I have a dog that needs a bit more extra to listen and follow so those are important to me.

Excellent signal in rough terrain

I have a dog that I love taking on hikes with me. She sometimes gets distracted when she catches a scent and I was worried she'll run off and get lost. This collar was purchased to help with emergency recall in situations like that and it has delivered. My last backpacking trip took almost 24 hours and the charge lasted the entire trip. My dog even had the collar on while wading through a shallow stream and we did not have any issues at all. I never did have to use it then but the peace of mind this gave me is worth every penny spent.

Makes well-behaved pets

One of my dogs ran off while we were out on a walk and absolutely refused to return on her own. I had to chase her down and practically carry her all the way home just to make sure she doesn't run off again. It was then that I decided that enough is enough and I'm getting her an ecollar.

I put the ecollar on her, gave the command and when she refused to obey, I gave her a zap (on the lowest setting). She started obeying after that. If she obeys before she gets a zap, I heaped on the praise. She caught on quickly that obeying gets a reward and not obeying will give unpleasant feelings.

Training has been going well and I have moved from using the shock to just the tone now. We'll continue until she becomes more consistent.

These ecollars are not cheap but they are worth the price. If you have the patience to train your dogs, you will be rewarded with exceptionally behaved pets.
