My GSP is very reactive and easily stimulated. This collar helped him so much.

Amazing e-collar.

I purchased the 425X collar afew months ago and it has been working great. It's easy to use and dog training is progressing along quite well. But it stopped working for some reason and I was worried I was SOL and had to buy another one. I contacted customer service and they helped me out and sent a replacement. very happy with SportDog. Very happy with customer service. Very happy with the collar.

I've had this remote training collar for a while now. I started my dog on low stimulation but now, we have successfully transitioned to just the beep function. Battery lasts a long time. Wish the buttons are embossed so it's easier to identify if I'm on low, medium or high but other than that, I'm happy with the collar.

Great product

I was so happy and impressed with my first purchase of this collar that I'm getting another one for my new pup. This is a great training tool.

This is a PetsTEK review rather than a SD425X review. I had trouble with the collar when I received it and wasn't sure if it's broken or I just didn't know how to use it. I contacted customer service and they were quick to respond. They helped me out with some basic trouble shooting and when that didn't work, directed me to where I need to go to get a replacement. Everything was done professionally and quickly and I am very happy. Thank you.

This was purchased to help train our beagle. Unfortunately, I lost the remote last winter. The interesting thing is I found the remote stuck in the mud after the snow melted. It must've been stuck for almost 3 months. It looked intact though so I took it in the house, cleaned it up a bit and what do you know, it still works!

This is a replacement collar for our old one that died. This works well. Holds a charge fairly long and can withstand the water. Happy with the purchase.

There was a learning curve to understand how to work the remote but once I got that down, training was a breeze

We have a runner. We couldn't trust our dog not to run away the moment the leash is taken off. We purchased this collar to remedy that. Our dog immediately responded to the correction. She's gotten very good with associating the stimulation with coming back. It did take a few weeks for the responses to be consistent but we have finally gotten her off leash. We no longer worry that we'll end up chasing her across the park or that she'll bolt over the fence and run away. It's like having a whole new dog.

The rating is 4 stars because there was a steep larning curve for me to learn to use this. It's more complicated than I anticipated. But if you're patient enough, this really works.

This is a great product with a lot of features that really helps in dog training. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I had issues getting the product set up when I first received it but customer service has been great with helping me out so all good.

We have a dog that thinks the 2-foot fence is there for him to practice his jumps on. It was particularly worrisome because we live very near a major highway and the last thing we need is for him to run into traffic and get hurt. It was either this collar or an electric fence and I honstly didn't want the hassle of figuring out how to install an electric fence. So I purchased this collar and for the next two months tried my best to train the dog. I watched some training videos online and also read the box instructions that came with the collar. I didn't really think it would work at all and kept a leash on him as well. Everytime he got too close to the fence, he got a vibration. The first few days the vibration made him stop and sort of quizzically look at me. But after a few more days of that, he finally learned what it meant. Now we've gotten more consistent with the responses. He's off-leash in the yard. No more jumping. I'm planning to test it when the family goes to the local park soon. This is a very effective trainer. Highly recommend. The battery lasts a long time too.

Works as advertized. A bit expensive but works well.

Works very well to keep our dog inside the yard

We have a very well-behaved dog until one day she just stopped listening - won't come when called, will give chase to animals in the park and completely ignore us, will jump on the bed she knows she's not supposed to be on and absolutely refuse to budge. We tried the usual training strategies but none are working. We talked to a trainer and he recommended getting an e-collar. He gave us a few training tips and we also watched some tutorials online before we started using the e-collar. We decided to just use the sound and the vibrate features. We've had our dog for a while and we just couldn't bring ourselves to use shock on her. Thankfully, we didn't really have to. Two weeks of training with this collar and she's back to her well-behaved self.

The battery seems to be alright. We use the e-collar only a few hours at a time so the single charge lasts days.

Works well for stubborn dogs.

SportDog is a good brand and the 425X is a solid and reliable e-collar. However, the design on this collar can be improved further. Separating the vibration and stimulation button would make usage much easier and less confusing. Same for the having separate nick and constant settings. It would also be nice to have a low battery indicator and an on/off button. Dogtra's collars have all those.

Our old e-collar was irrepairably damaged after falling into the lake on the last family outing so we needed one that's waterproof. The "DryTek" feature of this collar is what sold us to it. Other than that though, we also like that the battery life is good. One charge is enough to last for a week or so, although our dog usually only has it on for a couple of hours a day and then we turn the collar off.

This collar has shock, tone and vibration functions which is great. However, it would have been better if the vibration and tone can also be adjusted. We never use the shock because our dog hates it.

I made the mistake of buying a cheap collar thatr's roughly a quarter of the price of this one. It broke too quickly and I ended up having to get a new one. The 425X is so much better. I have my dog wear this collar on walks. It has held up very well so far even in wet weather. She usually has it on for a couple of hours each day. She doesn't llike the static but responds to tone. The collar does not have a vibrate option so I'm curious if my dog will respond more quickly to that than the tone. Even with just the tone though my dog is a totally different animal with this collar on. This collar is keeping my dog safe and it's worth the money.
